Printing White on White / Black on Black
We refine our products using various printing techniques, where both physical and technical factors can influence or alter the print result – particularly within the visible color spectrum.
In textile printing, colored pigments are typically used, which only achieve their effect when they sufficiently contrast with the background color. When printing on textiles, the ink must provide enough contrast to the base color of the fabric for the design to be visible. For instance, printing black text on a black surface does not offer enough contrast, rendering the designed text element imperceptible. The same applies to all printing colors that match the product color (e.g., orange on orange, yellow on yellow, etc.).
Additionally, physical factors can also play a role, such as in sublimation printing. With this method, white cannot be sublimated onto a white surface, as it remains invisible and cannot be transferred.
We therefore recommend creating a contrast gradient by adjusting the color selection – for example, white text on a black background or black or colored designs on a white background.
